Quick Overview

Best First-Time Route

Take the Tube to Waterloo. Follow signs to the South Bank / London Eye, exit onto Westminster Bridge Road and walk 5–7 minutes to County Hall. Clear signage points to the Dungeon entrance.

From Westminster Station

Exit at Westminster, cross Westminster Bridge on foot (great views of Big Ben & the Eye), then turn right to County Hall. The walk is ~6–8 minutes.

Option 1 — From Trafalgar Square / West End

Great if you’re near Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, or Charing Cross.

  • Walk (scenic): From Trafalgar Square, head to Embankment and cross Hungerford/Golden Jubilee Bridges to the South Bank, then walk east to County Hall (~18–22 min total).
  • Tube: Piccadilly Circus/Leicester Square → Embankment (Northern/Bakerloo) or Waterloo (via Northern), then walk 6–10 min.
  • Bus: West End routes run along Strand/Victoria Embankment/Westminster. Walking across the bridges is often just as quick.

Option 2 — Tube & National Rail (Fastest for Most)

Waterloo Station (Closest)

Served by Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern and Waterloo & City. Follow South Bank / London Eye signs; County Hall is a short walk.

Westminster Station

District/Circle/Jubilee. Cross Westminster Bridge to the South Bank, then right to County Hall.

Embankment/Charing Cross
